Malaga is much more than a beach city. On this private walking tour, you will discover the city’s Roman, Moorish, Renaissance, maritime, artistic, and culinary sides in a relaxed and personal way.
Your private guide will lead you through Malaga’s historic center, from elegant boulevards and lively squares to hidden corners, local stories, and some of the city’s most important monuments. It is the ideal tour if you want to understand Malaga without joining a large group or following a generic route.
Malaga is one of the oldest cities in Europe, and its historic center still shows the different civilizations that shaped it. During the tour, you will see how Roman ruins, Moorish walls, Renaissance churches, and modern city life all come together within just a few streets.
Highlights may include:
The tour can begin near Malaga’s elegant Town Hall, a beautiful Neo-Baroque building from the early 20th century. From there, we walk through Malaga Park, a lush Mediterranean garden filled with exotic plants and shaded pathways.
We then continue toward the port area, one of the oldest maritime zones in the Mediterranean and today one of Spain’s important cruise ports. From here, the views toward the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro Castle are especially beautiful.
Malaga has changed enormously in recent years. Around Muelle Uno and the port promenade, you will see the modern, elegant side of the city, with sea views, palm trees, restaurants, shops, and the colorful cube of the Pompidou Centre.
This part of the tour gives you a different view of Malaga: open, maritime, creative, and very easy to enjoy on foot.
From Plaza de la Marina, we continue into the pedestrian heart of Malaga. Calle Marqués de Larios is one of the most elegant shopping streets in Spain and the main artery of the historic center.
Depending on the pace of the tour, we may also pass through:
If you would like to include a local food or wine moment, your guide can recommend a traditional Malaga bodega or tapas stop after the walking tour. This is a great way to taste local sweet wine, tapas, or typical Malaga flavors.
Food and drinks are not included in the standard walking tour price, but we are happy to suggest good local places depending on your tastes.
